This is my favorite "studio" portrait that I have taken of my kids thus far. As I'm much more of a street photographer than a portraiture photographer, I would love some feedback on this.
This was taken with a Phottix octagon softbox to their immediate right and a cheepie large diffuser with a beauty-like grid in the middle strapped on the on-camera flash. Flash output was manual with an old Nikon SB-28 at 1/4 power behind the softbox and a Nissin Di-466 at 1/2 power behind the "beauty light" diffuser. Base exposure was determined with a Minolta IV flashmeter followed by some test shooting and playing around with the power levels on each flash to get the right balance. Final exposure was 1/15s@f8 with an EI of 200.
