Late afternoon at Beitou Park in a suburb of Taipei, Taiwan with some awesome late afternoon side-lighting. I abused the light and have a few more, which I will post later.
I'm kinda on the wall about going B&W for most of these because the light was so beautiful...but the texture in the elderly players hands & faces, the texture in the rough board edges, and the game pieces all scream "Black & White".
This is "Chinese Go", BTW. It's like Reversi (a.k.a. "Orthello") but at a much bigger scale. Go is a very popular game locally, with many parents putting there kids in Go classes when they are young, Go tournaments, and even a cartoon based around the game. The rules are similar to Reversi, but with such a large play area strategy goes beyond just claiming the corners.

I was kinda learning with the Hikaru no go manga. Sadly they stopped it at some point so i'ts still unfinished. Thing is I will probably have to read it all over again when they decide to finish or continue the story if that ever happens. Great picture!
