Nighttime Taxi Call by bQw Nighttime Taxi Call by bQw
While heading home tonight.

Written by :iconcosmocranium: for this photo:

Left behind, i wonder,
dazzled by the city lights, my spot still dark though..
Unknown shining streaks piercing my dark space
i am restless here trapped in this motion you know!
Lost into myself i cant breath, holding onto your hand,
when no one stops for me, you too want to let go.......

love this, but i kinda wish the white in the background wasn't so prominent. it's a tad distracting. wonderful capture none the less. :faint:

I agree, but in order to get the child and mother exposed adequately I had to sacrifice something. Two stops over exposure killed the florescent lights in the storefront, but got me detail in the young boy's face.

It was the best compromise. ;)

Thanks, especially since street photos are rarely technically correct & aren't meant to be ;P

I guess this one should go to the local salon.

i don't agree... a lost of great street photos are just tecnically perfect! you make me think to Henri Cartier Bresson, probably best street photographer of his time.

Bresson is actually a perfect example of what I mean . He was a completely natural photographer and wasn't even aware of things as basic as film speed. His friends would give him film, telling him "it's faster", he would keep his camera at f8, and he would take photos.

His photos are viewable by virtue of his excellent printer (who has re-told how horrible Bresson's negatives were many times).

Bresson had an excellent eye and great timing, but no technical skills what-so-ever.

yes, he was a rich man with a Leica and a lost of films in the bag. In my opinion we have also to think about the difference between photography during '900 and 2000+ . In the past there where lower control of the exposure and also another line & angle vision..
I agree that he was most a perfect eye than an artist of the exposure, but a lot of his shots are tecnically almost impossible to get :)

i think i wouldnt say anything innovative about this photo, so ill just say its great. ive added it to my street favs. great capture :)

Street generally isn't innovate. It's a genre that shuns any form of staging or manipulation.

It's a genre that's more of a mirror than a mental interpretation. :)

Thanks for liking it!
