I usually don't photograph "things", but it's hard to pass by strong primary colors. It's also hard not to X-process them.

This would look good as a wall print, wouldn't it? ;)

Have had this sitting in my inbox for a while now and I really enjoyed seeing it. Cool stuff, I like the colours playing together, it's indeed something that might even look good as a wall print. Funny that it's "only" from a mobile camera ;) I like the details in the center and the slightly "lensbaby-y" feeling to the outsides of the frame. Nice :)

Thanks so much for the kind words. I'm actually enjoying playing with the capabilities of my phone...I see it as the Holga of the digital age.

Digital Holga? Surely is! I'd agree with that, even though I still feel that camera phones (or rather, the phone's cameras) are a bit weird to handle. Still, it's certainly a field worth exploring :) Not sure you know this one: [link]

They're weird to handle, slow to shoot, not the sharpest things, and overall odd...but that's what makes them "digital Holgas" :D

Thanks for the link, I hadn't seen that before.

True, I guess that this is one of the points where the camera as a tool heavily influences the whole process of taking photos. Interesting really!

Exactly. Like someone picking a lens for the bokeh it renders or because it has that "leica glow" when fully open. If the rendering compliments the scene artistically and it is applied to the image equally, then it's all good.

What do you think of using things like the Hipstamatic app, though? As you said that it's okay if something like that is "applied to the image equally"?

That's exactly why I made that statement. For this photo I used an app called retroCamera, which is what I used for this photo.

Nowadays, I shoot with an app called "Vignette", which allows me to use the full 8MP of my HTC Desire HD phone and has wider customization options.
