Who is suggesting it shouldn't have any bearing on whether or not it gets featured - a piece should be selected based on it's own merits, not piggybacking on the reputation/popularity (or lack thereof) of another deviant.

As for the person who may be featured, time spent here isn't any measure of talent or worthiness at all (not to mention inaccurracy from people who have switched accounts) - people who have been here for years may have not improved very much at all, and still have quite low quality work, while someone who's only been here a few weeks may have been honing their craft offline for years and thus have work of a much higher quality.

If the piece is good, it's good, and a number isn't going to change that.

Art should only be DDed bassed only on the art its self. The artist, should have nothing at all to do with why something should or shouldnt be DD's.
Also things shouldnt be DDed just because a certion person/persons suggested it.
if the art is DD worthy then it should be DDed no matter who suggests it :D
All too often I see DD's being suggested by the same people over and over again. There are 100's of other people who suggest DD's too. Maybe its time to let some new blood in instead of the same all the time, it gets old after a while
But anyways back on track lol..
If something is good enough it doesnt matter who the person is or how long, or short the person has been a remember on dA.
But as Wendy said, So long as they are an active person. Not just a few days, as they may be a fly by

DD's should be awarded for artistic quality. No other factor.
The "n00bs need encouragement" made me giggle though. :D

In the last couple of weeks I've gotten both "I've been at dA for X years and deserve a DD!" and "Give this person a DD to encourage them" suggestions in my inbox.

And both made me chuckle ;)

The length of time someone is on dA shouldn't play a part in featuring DDs. I agree with ^wynnesome, consider the artist as well as the piece suggested.
