Pet Crypt

The story behind this photo is charming yet sad. Once you actually know what the wall of cubbies is for, it brings a sort of cuteness and loneliness to the picture. However, it's difficult to tell exactly what the wall is until you find it stated in the artist's comments. Despite that, the wall filling up the entire frame draws your eyes from cubbie to cubbie, and is a very detailed, balanced shot. It also makes you wonder about the couple in the center, who once had a pet there, and what kind of puppy they had, how it lived, and how it died. It's a very emotional picture but it is also very subtle. The fact that it was taken on film gives it an edge to this subtlety as well.
